Aluminum Titanate

Aluminum titanate ( ATI ~ AL2 TIO5 ) is the stoichiometric mixed phase of alumina and titanium dioxide.

 

Properties

 

  • low thermal conductivity
  • small wettability by aluminum melt and non-ferrous metal melts
  • very low thermal expansion coefficient
  • very high thermal shock resistance
  • no dense material, shows certain porosity

 

Typical Application Examples

 

  • Foundry technology, especially in aluminum melt plants
  • for applications that are subject to very strong thermal shock cycles
