Thermal Treatment

Thermal treatment comprises the "baking out" and "sintering" stages. Both are documented in full.

Temperatures up to 1,000°C prevail when baking out (also binder removal or bisque firing) the green body. The aim is to gently extract both the organic binders in the bodies and similar substances. At the same time strength and edge stability can be raised.

In sintering the temperature lies between 1,270 and 1,750°C. In this fabrication step following baking out the moulds are sintered into ceramic. In our works we currently have 7 batch kilns and a continuously operating tunnel kiln available. All with automatic sequences from filling to extraction.

Essential production parameters:

  • Preciseness of temperature
  • Constant
  • Kiln atmosphere / spec. density
  • Best fuel even if the most expensive: Recrystallized ceramic
  • silicium carbide firing auxiliaries

For special ceramics, e.g. alumina, we have 2 high-temperature kilns (up to 1,800°C) available.
